A hidden bathroom
A bathroom hidden behind a cupboard.
On the top floor of a fine building in the centre of Biarritz, a pied-à-terre is rethought to welcome more guests. To gain a bedroom without pushing back the walls, the shower leaves its place and slips into a large piece of joinery straddling the living room and the kitchen: tall black doors that you simply open for it to appear.
The same language runs through the whole flat. Black fronts and timber niches hold the kitchen, cupboards and dressing room; closed, they leave the rooms calm and uncluttered, turned towards the light of the top floor. The new bedroom, the bathroom and the separate WC all find their place within the existing 89 m².
